Clean the chamber: After using a deodorizing and antibacterial spray, or after diluting it twice with alcohol, wipe it and let it dry. Drive the machine to run for 20 minutes.

APPLICATION
Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and Dementia

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is the stage between the expected cognitive decline of normal aging, and the more serious decline of dementia. It can involve problems with memory, language, thinking and judgment that are greater than normal age-related changes. Dementia describes a group of symptoms affecting memory, thinking, and social abilities severely enough to interfere with daily functioning. There are a variety of types of dementia, including Alzheimer's, vascular (blood vessel disease), Lewy Body (a progressive type with abnormal protein deposition in the brain), Frontotemporal (A degeneration in the frontal and temporal areas of the brain), and Mixed (a combination of the above). Alzheimer's is the most common.
Since cognitive impairment and dementia affect many areas of the brain, and HBOT treats all injured areas, patients experience a generalized improvement in cognition and function. HBOT works in MS by repairing the wounds to the nerve fibers and inhibiting inflammation. Benefits from HBOT with Dr. Harch include increased mobility, reduced fatigue, and improved equilibratory coordination. Urinary symptoms also improve, as well as nystagmus and spasticity. The most rigorous study ever performed using HBOT-treatment of MS was published in one of the most prestigious medical journals, the New England Journal of Medicine, in 1983. The study showed a statistically significant improvement in HBOT-treated MS patients compared to the control group. Patients experienced increased mobility, reduced fatigability, and improved equilibratory coordination, along with improved urinary symptoms, improvements in nystagmus (rapid beating of the eyes), and improvements in spasticity. At the one year follow-up, deterioration occurred in 12% of the HBOT group vs. 55% of the control group. In other words, HBOT had a sustained effect and prevented further deterioration.   When ten to fourteen year follow-up studies were performed on MS patients in England receiving long-term treatment (one treatment every 2-4 weeks) patients demonstrate maintenance and even improvement in neurological function.

Recovery from Surgery


Surgical trauma to tissues results in swelling, decreased blood flow, decreased oxygen delivery, delayed wound healing, increased dehiscence of a surgical wound (spontaneous re-opening of a wound), increased risk of infection, and poorer outcomes.
When delivered before or soon after surgery, HBOT can minimize surgical injury, complications, and speed healing. HBOT delivered before surgery or immediately after is the most powerful inhibitor of reperfusion injury. Dr. Harch presented studies on this HBOT effect at the European Federation of Neurological Societies Meeting in 2000 as a "generic" effect of HBOT on reperfusion injury in animals and humans. Plastic surgeons are currently the specialists who most often send their patients to get HBOT. HBOT can also prevent cognitive injury from anesthesia and cardiac surgery, as demonstrated by Dr. Alex in England with two HBOTs the night before surgery.

FAQ
(1) What should I do to prepare for a treatment?
People can go into the chamber fully clothed. It is recommended to wear losse 
comfortable. Shoes, jewelry, or any sharp objects should be removed before getting into the chamber. It is recommended that women not wear stockings in the chamber,  because it may cause feelings of claustrophobia.

(2)How will the HBOT treatment feel?
  The chamber will be filled with compressed air and oxygen. Once chamber has 
reached to pressure, it will start to pressurize. While the chamber is pressurizing, 
your ears will feel the change in pressure inside the chamber. Otherwise it should 
be unnoticeable. To equalize the pressure and avoid the feeling of fullness in your 
ears, you will need to clear your ears by chewing(gum of food), swallowing, 
yawing. During the pressurization of the chamber, your mouth may become dry. 
Once the chamber is fully pressurized, your salivation will return to normal.

(3)Are there any side effects?
The most common side effect is discomfort to the ears caused by pressure 
changes.To minimize the risk,patients learn to promote the adequate clearing of 
your ears during pressurization. Some patients may feel tired and dizzy after 
using hyperbaric chamber for the first time. It's a good signal as Hyperbaric 
Oxygen Therapy will speeds up the metabolism of our body.Just like people feel 
tired after a long running. They are usually good signs of indicating detoxification.

(4) Are there any contraindications for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Never use the chamber while you catch a cold or flu symptoms.
